If you are looking for power and capability look no further then the Honda Pioneer 1000.  The Pioneer joined the side by side market in 2014 and has set standards high for competitors. These utility vehicles are designed to take on just about anything with a wide range of versatility that no other brand has been able to recreate. In this article, we will cover the main features of the Pioneer 1000 and Pioneer 1000-5.

Pioneer 1000 vs Pioneer 1000-5

What is the difference between the 1000 and the 1000-5 models? The main difference between these two trims is passengers. With a Pioneer 1000 trim, 3 people will fit comfortably in the front of the side by side. On the Pioneer 1000-5 the dump bed converts into 2 extra passenger seats and the transition is almost instant.

This is a fan favorite because it allows the Honda Pioneer to haul 5 people down the trails at your local ATV park and haul a load of rock around your home with a full-size tilt bed. This allows you to have two side by sides in one without gaining extra weight and length.

Honda Engine and Drive Train

You'll find it's smooth riding in the Pioneer side by sides thanks to its quality engine and drive train. A 999cc liquid-cooled inline twin-cylinder Unicam four-stroke engine features 10:1 compression ratio, fuel injection, and electric start.

Combined with the Fully Automatic Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) with six forward gears and Reverse. Four drive modes include 2WD, 4WD, Turf and Differential lock. Paddle Shifters with three shift modes (standard, sport, and manual). It's smart technology for smart drivers like you who may want to drive more relaxed or have a little more fun! Chassis and Towing

Assisting the engine in your legendary experience is the suspension and braking system.  Both the front and rear feature dual 210mm hydraulic disc brakes and accompanied by independent double-wishbone with travel of10 inches on the back and 10.6 inches on the front. You'll find 12.7 inches of ground clearance underneath and a turning radius of 13.8 feet. This allows a smooth ride and easy stopping on the Pioneer 1000 and Pioneer 1000-5. The standard bed capacity allows for 1000 pounds except in CA and is rated to tow up to 2,000 pounds.
